it's a GIRL!

Holly (Ilex)
Hard to know a boy from a girl, until you get the berries.
The proof. A two year old mystery is put to rest.
The suspense was unprecedented.

outgoing...and INcoming

Successive bloom in a small perennial garden is a small victory.
Love the contrast of the giant allium's globular architecture
 with the baby hydrangea blossoms.

Moments before the SP-Roing!

Peony
Two years of patience pays off.
These luscious peonies made their way to my garden
thanks to my generous friends, Annabelle and Christine.
The gnarly rhizomes were happily adopted into the fold.
Sharing is good.
The garden is a living patchwork.

Jungle in a Square Foot

Fleshy mukdenia rossi pushes up against
lysimachia clethroides (gooseneck loosestrife)
and aromatic mint make up this bouquet.
Shake things up:
Dig, Divide and Share the Abundance.
